This is the story of Heylo: how a smart score counter grew into the complete darts experience. And what Matchflight stands for.
Our story
The beginning
Anyone who plays darts knows the feeling: adding up, subtracting and keeping track after every turn, on a chalkboard or in an app. The conversation stalls, the rhythm disappears. We wanted you to just throw. Your board should do the counting.
The product
Everyone already has a dartboard that feels right. So instead of building a new board, we built a ring that fits around any standard board. Four cameras recognise every throw, LED lighting illuminates the board all the way round and the ring protects your wall. All in one.
The difference
Plenty of systems can score automatically. We wanted to turn darts into a game. So we added 36 characters, each with their own personality, who talk, react and play differently. We created original games such as March of the Dodos and Killer, and you can play online against friends and other players.
Now
Today, Heylo is for anyone with a dartboard. The app is free and so is playing, with no limit on the number of throws. And we’re far from finished: new game modes are in development.
